Ambient Meditation is an iOS audio companion published by Gillespie Audio (Richard Gillespie). We respect your privacy and your device. The short version: the app is fully offline, collects no personal data, and never sends anything off your device.
Data we collect
None. Ambient Meditation makes no network requests of its own. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud sync. It runs no analytics. It contains no advertising SDK, no tracking framework, and no third-party telemetry. The app never sends data off your device.
Data stored on your device
Ambient Meditation uses Apple's standard on-device storage to remember:
- The sounds you have marked as favorites.
- Sounds you have archived or hidden from view.
- Your playback preferences (sleep timer, default volume, tone control).
- Your last selected sound, so the app reopens where you left off.
This data lives only on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app removes it.
Subscriptions and purchases
The full sound library can be unlocked through a Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime purchase. These are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple processes your payment and subscription status — Ambient Meditation never sees your payment details, Apple ID, or any other account information. The app only asks Apple, on your device, whether you currently have an active entitlement.
Apple's own privacy policy applies to the App Store and to any information you give them while purchasing.
Device permissions
Ambient Meditation only uses standard iOS audio playback. It does not request access to your microphone, camera, photos, location, contacts, calendar, reminders, health data, or motion sensors.
Third parties
None, other than Apple in their role as the App Store and payment processor. We do not share data with third parties because we do not collect any in the first place.
Children
Ambient Meditation does not collect any data, so it collects no data from children either. The app is suitable for all ages.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
