VA-1 1.2 Adds Stereo WAV Recording, Loop Export, and MIDI Output

VA-1 1.2 records the synth's stereo output, renders sequencer loops to WAV, and sends keyboard or sequencer notes to external MIDI instruments.

VA-1 1.2.0 is now available on the App Store. The update adds stereo WAV recording, offline sequencer-loop export, external MIDI output, and broad reliability improvements across audio, MIDI, routing, and AUv3 workflows.

Capture the Synth in Stereo

The standalone app can now record VA-1's generated stereo output while you play. A capture includes the instrument and its effects; it does not use the microphone or record an audio-interface input. When recording is complete, the WAV can be previewed inside VA-1, saved to a chosen location, shared with the system share sheet, or deleted.

Export a Sequencer Loop

VA-1 can render the current sequencer loop directly to a stereo WAV with the selected preset, tempo, pattern, and effects. The render runs offline, so a clean loop can be exported without recording it in real time.

Drive External MIDI Instruments

Notes from VA-1's keyboard or sequencer can now be sent to an external hardware or software instrument. The routing panel provides input and output destinations, channel controls, local playback options, keyboard and sequencer output switches, MIDI Thru, a test note, All Notes Off, and Panic.

Version 1.2 also improves behavior with class-compliant USB audio interfaces, demanding patches, changing audio routes, external MIDI, sequencer timing, and compatible AUv3 hosts. Recording and loop export are features of the standalone app; an AUv3 host provides its own recording and export workflow.

VA-1 1.2.0 is a free update for existing owners and remains a one-time $24.99 USD universal purchase for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with no subscription.
