Data we collect
None. TEMPO-1 has no accounts, sign-in, Gillespie Audio cloud service, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking framework, or third-party telemetry. The app does not send personal data, usage data, audio, samples, presets, MIDI mappings, or project data to Gillespie Audio. User-directed MIDI connections, file sharing, AUv3 hosts, and Apple system services are described below.
Data stored on your device
TEMPO-1 stores app data locally on your device so the workstation can reopen with your music-making state intact. This may include:
- Factory and user preset selections, kits, patterns, and banks.
- Recorded, edited, imported, bounced, and captured samples that you choose to keep.
- MIDI Learn mappings you create for hardware controllers.
- Audio input-channel and MIDI output-destination selections.
- Playback, routing, mixer, FX, voice, tempo, swing, and workflow settings.
- Exported WAV, MIDI, or bank files you choose to save or share.
This data stays on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or sync it using Apple or third-party tools outside TEMPO-1. Deleting the app removes app-local data, subject to normal iOS, iPadOS, macOS, iCloud, Files, backup, and host-app behavior.
Recordings, samples, exports, and AUv3 hosts
In the standalone app, TEMPO-1 can record up to 30 seconds from the microphone or a selected channel on a connected audio interface. The recording, waveform, edits, name, and saved pad sample remain local unless you choose to export, share, back up, or move them. Audio-input sample recording is unavailable in the AUv3 extension.
TEMPO-1 can also import WAV samples you select, export WAV and MIDI files, import and export preset banks, and run as an AUv3 extension in supported host apps. Files you choose to import, export, save, share, or store in another app are controlled by you and by the Apple or host-app features you use.
When TEMPO-1 runs as an AUv3 extension, the host app may save plug-in state inside its own session or project files. That host app's privacy policy and storage behavior apply to the host project.
MIDI and network connections
TEMPO-1 can send MIDI notes, clock, and transport to a destination you select. That destination may be local software, connected hardware, or an Apple Network MIDI session you choose to configure. TEMPO-1 does not use MIDI networking for analytics, advertising, telemetry, or communication with Gillespie Audio.
Purchases
App Store purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Gillespie Audio does not receive your payment details, Apple ID, or App Store account information from TEMPO-1. Apple's own privacy policy applies to App Store purchases and related account activity.
Device permissions
TEMPO-1 requests microphone access only for user-initiated sample recording in the standalone app. It uses standard system audio to access a connected interface and the input channel you select. It also uses MIDI, document import, document export, and sharing features as needed for its music workflows. It does not request access to your location, contacts, calendar, reminders, health data, or advertising identifier.
Children
TEMPO-1 does not collect data from anyone, including children.
