TEMPO-1 Support

Standalone navigation now centres on PADS, SEQ, and SONG. Open SEQ for MIX, FX, and AUTO. Open SONG and BANK for the Pattern and clip library; Settings is the gear. In the TEMPO-1 AUv3 extension the familiar flatter navigation remains. Start with the 2.0 guide.

Open SONG, select the destination track, choose a Pattern from BANK, and tap an empty bar to place it. One track-header tap selects the row; double-tap opens its mixer. FILL repeats whole copies into empty gaps across the visible bars or ruler selection and leaves existing clips in place. See Song arrangement.

Configure a Song track for Audio and choose the microphone or interface input in I/O. Check permission, input level, and monitoring, arm the track, then use Song Record. If ARM reports unavailable input, use its Open I/O action to correct the route. Stop and inspect the recorded clip before moving on. See audio recording.

Double-tap an Audio clip to open its waveform editor. Adjust the source region, fades, gain, and repeats; changes apply as you edit. Close with Done. These are Song clip controls; the SOUND sample editor still serves the groovebox pads. See audio clip editing.

In standalone Song, choose Instrument for a track and select an installed compatible AUv3 instrument. Arm the track or use TAP TO PLAY to monitor it, then record the performance. Use AUDIO or MIDI+AUDIO capture for plug-in on-screen keys that do not send MIDI back. Live instrument playback needs the plug-in on the destination device; a printed audio take can play without it. Open Song MIX for track and master strips, three-band EQ, and up to four ordered internal inserts per strip. The master Limiter belongs in the final slot. Song automation can shape the arrangement and tempo; Sequence AUTO remains the Pattern workflow. See mixing and automation.

The working Song autosaves. Use SONGS for named Songs and EXPORT SONG / IMPORT SONG packages. Export a package with its audio before deleting or reinstalling the app. Patterns stay global, and preset-bank exports serve a different purpose from Song packages. Third-party instruments need to be installed for live playback on the destination device; printed or bounced audio travels without the plug-in. See Song projects and export.

Offline WAV export renders TEMPO-1 audio and supported hosted instruments. A hardware MIDI destination does not return sound by MIDI. Record that instrument’s audio output onto an Audio track before exporting. Also check track mute/solo, the export range, and whether effect tails are included.

Open standalone Settings to choose a skin, Focus Step Lane, Performance Haptics, screen-awake behaviour, and the launch workspace. Already-playing Patterns and Songs can continue in the background when no recording, armed track, live input monitoring, or external MIDI session owns playback. After a call or audio interruption, press Play explicitly. See Settings and background playback.

Check the device or host output first, then confirm TEMPO-1's master level, channel levels, mute, and solo states. Tap a pad directly to confirm the selected voice is sounding before troubleshooting the sequencer.

In standalone TEMPO-1, select a voice, open SOUND, check the AUDIO panel, then tap RECORD. Record up to 30 seconds, stop, trim the take, adjust gain, preview, name it, and save it to one of that voice's 10 user-bank slots. Stop loop Capture before starting a sample recording. For pad sampling, open A/MIDI and choose AUDIO to check microphone permission, the active input and output, the input level, and channel selection. When a class-compliant USB interface exposes multiple inputs, select the required channel before recording; All Inputs creates a mono mix of the available inputs. If the interface disappears, reconnect it and reopen AUDIO to confirm the route. Song recording has its own I/O controls for DEVICE, MONO/STEREO, and the recording channels.

Add TEMPO-1 as an AUv3 extension inside a supported iOS, iPadOS, or macOS host. Host MIDI and transport sync are supported, but each host exposes plug-ins, routing, and recording in its own way. Song arrangement, hosting other AUv3 instruments, and direct audio-input recording are available in the standalone app. To use a recorded pad sample in AUv3, save the sample, find its WAV in the app-visible TEMPO-1 / Samples / voice folder through Files or Finder, then import that WAV through SOUND in the AUv3 instance. The new standalone Pattern-bank format is separate from the extension’s preset-bank format.

In A/MIDI, open OUTPUT, turn output on, choose a hardware, software, or available Network MIDI destination, then select INTERNAL, MIDI, or BOTH. MAP can enable each track and set its channel and note. CLOCK sends 24-PPQN clock while TEMPO-1 plays, and TRANSPORT sends Start and Stop. If nothing arrives, check the selected destination, MAP rows, mute and solo states, and the receiving app or instrument.

Use MIDI learn to map hardware controls to pads, transport, BPM, mixer, FX, routing, and continuous controls. If a mapping does not respond, include the controller model and the type of message you are sending when you contact support.

TEMPO-1 supports WAV, MP3, M4A, and AAC audio import. Pad samples are limited to 30 seconds; Song audio can be longer, within the 30-minute Song limit. If a file fails to load, try a shorter file and send the file format details with your support note.

TEMPO-1 can export the current loop as WAV, export the current pattern as MIDI, and capture live performance audio as WAV for sharing. In standalone Song, open SONGS and EXPORT WAV for a stereo mix or per-track stems, with Song, Loop, or Selected Range options. If an export is empty, check that the current pattern contains active steps and that voices are not muted.

Standalone BANK manages global Patterns and clips; use its export commands to back them up. Song packages preserve arrangements and their audio separately. The AUv3 extension retains its legacy preset banks, including embedded user samples and MIDI mappings. Standalone .tempo1pattern / .tempo1bank files do not import into the extension; existing .tempo1presets backups use its Import Bank command. Keep backups of important music before deleting or reinstalling the app.

Email the support address with your device model, OS version, app version, whether you were using standalone or AUv3, and the shortest steps that reproduce the issue. Screenshots or short screen recordings help a lot.
