Settings and Background Playback

Customize the interface and performance behavior, check audio/MIDI, and listen in the background.

Appearance

  • Open Settings and choose one of eight skins: Graphite, Porcelain, Studio Gray, Midnight, Moss, Aubergine, Sandstone, or Rosewood. Skins change the chassis while keeping musical colors meaningful.
  • Focus Step Lane shows a dedicated 16-step performance lane in the Sequencer. Turn it on for a focused view of the selected voice.

Audio, MIDI, and help

  • OPEN AUDIO / MIDI PANEL takes you to input routing, MIDI learn, output, and mappings. The Settings overview shows input and MIDI status.
  • Audio Safety writes protected input when on. Turning it off selects Raw Input Capture for the next take: interface clipping is recorded, while monitoring/output remain protected. Use the raw input meter to set interface gain.
  • SHOW WELCOME GUIDE reopens onboarding. COPY DIAGNOSTIC REPORT copies a privacy-safe technical snapshot to include when requesting help.
  • RESET SETTINGS restores preferences while preserving music. FULL FACTORY RESET erases app-owned Patterns, banks, Songs, internal sample caches, legacy presets, and preferences after two confirmations. Existing Files-app exports remain; export important work first.

Background listening

Start a ready Pattern or Song in the foreground, then background the app or lock the device to keep listening when the session is playback-only.

Background listening requires no armed take, live input monitoring, pending audio preparation, or external MIDI ownership. Recording and hardware MIDI sessions are finalized/stopped when the app must leave those active workflows.

A call, Siri, an alarm, or an audio interruption may pause playback. Return to the app and press Play when ready to continue. Background playback does not turn the app into a lock-screen transport controller.
