Song Audio Editing
Trim audio, set clip gain and fades, split and repeat clips, and choose recordings.
Open and audition

Open the clip
Double-tap an audio clip in SONG.
- 02
Choose the view
Use waveform zoom, the overview, follow, and show-whole-clip controls to reach the region you need.
- 03
Audition
Play/Stop listens from the editor. Loop audition repeats the audition, and Clip / Song switches between isolated track listening and the arrangement.
- 04
Finish
Edits apply to the Song as you work. Use Undo/Redo to revise and close the editor when finished; there is no separate Save step.
Waveform and level tools
| Control | Use |
|---|---|
| Trim edges | Drag the waveform edges to change the usable region. |
| Clip gain | Set -96 dB through +24 dB for this clip. |
| Fade in / Fade out | Set the edge fades in milliseconds. |
| Value | Enter an exact gain or fade value instead of dragging. |
| Knob gestures | Drag vertically to adjust; double-tap to reset. |
| Split in Half | Divide the selected clip at its midpoint and edit the resulting pieces. |
Repeat and timing
- In CLIP SETTINGS, Repeat in Song ranges from x1 to x128. More repeats extends the clip's repeated playback in the arrangement.
- Follow Song tempo makes the clip follow arrangement tempo; Keep original timing retains its own timing. Choose the behavior that fits a rhythmic loop or a free performance.
- Loop audition is a listening tool. Repeat in Song changes the arranged clip.
Choose a recording
When a clip contains more than one recording, Previous recording and Next recording select the active take. One recording plays at a time and track automation is shared.
Use AUTO from the editor when you want track automation over the clip's Song range. Save a take to the shared bank to reuse it in another Song.
