Step Editing

Edit velocity, pitch, probability, conditions, micro-timing, and ratchets per step.

Step edit modes

TEMPO-1 CND mode and condition badges
CND mode and condition badges.
Step edit modes
ModeWhat it edits
VELPer-step velocity
PITCHPer-step pitch offset, -24 to +24 semitones where supported
PROBProbability; lower values create random variation by sometimes skipping hits
CNDCondition interval; a step plays every N loops from 1L through 16L
TIMEMicro-timing for push or pull feel
RTRGRetrigger count for repeats and fills; editable manually or captured from repeated live taps

Conditional steps

  • CND is deterministic. It follows the pattern loop counter rather than rolling a random chance.
  • 1L means every loop. 2L means every other loop. 4L means every fourth loop.
  • Use CND for fills, ghost-note entrances, and long-form groove changes.
  • Use PROB when you want chance; use CND when you want a predictable cycle.
