Overview

Development eras

May 6-15, 2026

Launch Workstation

TEMPO-1 arrived as a fast 12-voice drum workstation for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and AUv3 workflows.

  • The first public release established playable pads, step sequencing, factory kits, starter patterns, user WAV import, MIDI export, loop WAV export, and AUv3 support.
  • Apple records the public App Store launch on May 13; the launch press release followed on May 15.
May 20-June 6, 2026

Groove Editing And Resampling

The early update cycle quickly deepened the sequencer, routing, sound-bank, capture, and resampling workflows.

  • Per-step velocity, probability, micro-timing, and ratchets turned the grid into a more expressive groove editor.
  • Capture, bounce-to-pad, per-voice sound banks, tap preview, safer commit flows, and AUv3 export improvements made the app more production-ready.
June 20-July 7, 2026

Modern Sequencer And MIDI Workflow

This phase added a more melodic sequencer, refreshed layouts, conditional steps, live quantized recording, and external MIDI output.

  • PADS mode, factory preset refreshes, PITCH mode, per-step sample pitch, pitch snap, and page follow made the sequencer faster and more musical.
  • Version 1.1.1 added conditions, record quantize, live ratchets, Filter Pad, deeper delay controls, and MIDI output with clock and transport.
July 9-11, 2026

Live Sampling

TEMPO-1 1.1.2 turned the groovebox into a direct audio-input sampler and hardened its studio connections.

  • Record up to 30 seconds from the microphone or a selected channel on a connected audio interface, then edit and assign the result to a pad.
  • USB audio routing, AUv3 state synchronization, MIDI handling, and real-time audio reliability were strengthened for build 23.

1.0.3build 7

Step editing, routing, timing, and ratchets

The first major post-launch feature update expanded the sequencer from basic step entry into a deeper groove-shaping surface.

  • Per-step velocity, probability, micro-timing, and ratchets.
  • FX routing improvements and Mac mixer parity.
  • MIDI export support for the expanded step data.

The feature work used 1.0.2 naming during development; the public release checkpoint was prepared as 1.0.3 build 7.
